Rachel was born with a love for fitness and after being diagnosed with a chronic illness, she realized a long and active lifestyle required some changes. That’s because people struggling with autoimmune disease such as undifferentiated connective tissue disease, scleroderma, lupus, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis and chronic fatigue syndrome can suffer from flare-ups with too much movement.

The right exercise can manage the symptoms and flare-ups of autoimmune conditions . When done properly, exercise can help to reduce inflammation and pain it causes. This is why Rachel is passionate about sharing Pilates with others.

The mind-body-breath connection of Pilates is a healthy way to work the body and relieve stress. With consistent practice, a deeper sense of self-awareness and control of the body can be developed. This allows for a vigorous lifestyle and can help autoimmune disease sufferers to get through the pain and exhaustion of daily activities.

No matter what level of Pilates a client begins, Rachel teaches Pilates with a focus on postural alignment, core conditioning, muscular strengthening, flexibility, and rehabilitation.

Rachel’s Pilates certification is through Balanced Body and is a PMA®- CPT. She is also a Rossiter Level 1 Coach.

When Rachel is not busy sharing Pilates with others, she likes to travel, hike, bike, and spend time with her family and pets.
